Stantec's Learning Products and Solutions is pleased to announce the release of its Small Drinking Water Systems Version for the Province of Ontario. In addition to providing a comprehensive overview of issues related to non-municipal drinking water systems (groundwater and surface water), this course provides participants with a full understanding of Ontario Reg. 252/05 – the new regulation governing small drinking water systems.

It should be noted that this course does not address the requirements for designated facilities under the Safe Drinking Water Act. To see if you are covered under this regulation access our Determining If Your Facility is Covered by Ontario Reg. 252/05.

WHAT IS IN THE PROGRAM?

This course provides owners and operators of small drinking water systems with a good understanding of:

• the nature of water
• the options for distribution and treatment
• the obligations for sampling and testing
• the Ontario Regulation 252/05
• the steps to take in case of various emergencies

The course is composed of ten modules:

Module 2 – What Can Go Wrong?
Module 3 – Water Sources and Quality
Module 4 – Understanding the Law
Module 5 – Water Distribution
Module 6 – Water Treatment
Module 7 – Sampling and Testing
Module 8 – Understanding and Acting on Test Results
Module 9 – Safety and Emergency Planning
Module 10 – Final Test

MOE APPROVED

The Ontario version of this course been assessed by the Ontario Environmental Training Consortium (OETC) and it meets the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) criteria for Director Approved Continuing Education under O.Reg. 128/04. Successful participants who complete the Credit Course will receive 1.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
