Anyone who is responsible for dangerous goods, whether it be a shipper, a carrier or a receiver, is required to have training in the transportation of dangerous goods. Once you have completed this course, you will be better informed about the importance of complying with the regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods.

WHAT IS IN THE COURSE?

Although goods can be transported by road, rail, air and water, this course will only cover regulations for road transportation of dangerous goods. There are nine classes of dangerous goods and at the end of this course, you will be qualified to handle all of them except Class 1, 6.2 and 7 as handling these classes requires additional training.

The course is composed of ten modules:

Module 1 – Course Introduction
Module 2 – Legislation
Module 3 – Chemical Hazards and Classes of Dangerous Goods
Module 4 – Packaging and Labels
Module 5 – Shipping Documents
Module 6 – Accidents
Module 7 – Segregation and Vehicle Loading
Module 8 – Emergency Response Assistance Plans
Module 9 – Exceptions
Module 10 – Final Test

The course should take four to five hours to complete.
