What will I learn in the Green Defensive Driving Course?

The Green Defensive Driving Course is designed for motorists of all ages who want to become better and safer drivers. The course consists of six mandatory modules, three optional modules, and one final test! If you are taking the course through your company or organization, all modules may be mandatory!

The modules are as follows:

Module 1: Principles and Foundations
Module 2: Intersections
Module 3: The Driver
Module 4: Passing
Module 5: Aggressive Driving
Module 6: Green Driving
Module 7: More Defensive Driving Tips*
Module 8: Winter Driving*
Module 9: Back Roads and Trail Driving*
* These modules may be optional.

How long will it take me to complete the course?

It should take you 2 - 3 hours to complete the course.


Why do I need to download Flash to view the course?

Throughout the course you will be watching Flash demonstrations and will be participating in interactive activities that require Flash. To see an example of the exciting Flash activities in the course, watch this Flash movie.


What do I do if I forget my username and/or password?

  1. Go to www.conceptformula.com/lms/ims.
  2. Under the Access button, click on Forgot your username or password?
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Click Submit.

You should receive your login information via email within a few minutes.


Can I leave the course open in the background while I do other work?

Back to TopYes! However, after 20 minutes of inactivity, you will be logged out. For better results, exit the course if you have other work to do.


What do I do if I run out of time?

You have 30 days to complete the course. However, if you require more time, contact the course administrator for an extension. Click here to view the contact information.


What happens if I do not pass the final test on the first try?

You can take the final test as often as needed. If you fail the course, try the quiz again until you pass.


Once I have completed the course, do I get a certificate?

Yes! Once you have successfully completed the final test, you will receive a certificate from the Canada Safety Council by mail.


How much does the course cost?

The course costs $60.00 + GST. To pay with Visa, MasterCard or cheque, please go through our online payment system.

I am an Alberta resident. Will this course reduce or eliminate the demerit points that are on my record?

Unfortunately, this course has not been approved to reduce or eliminate demerit points from your license in the province of Alberta.


I am a Nova Scotia resident. Can this online course replace the in class "exit program" for the graduated driver licensing program?

Unfortunately, this online course cannot replace the in-class the "exit program" for the graduated driver licensing program in Nova Scotia.
