I am an Alberta resident. Will this course reduce or eliminate the demerit points that are on my record?
I am a Nova Scotia resident. Can this online course replace the in class "exit program" for the graduated driver licensing program?
If I take this course, will my insurance premiums go down?
I am a resident of Ontario and I need a Defensive Driving Course for my class B licence.


What will I learn in the Green Defensive Driving Course?

The Green Defensive Driving Course is designed for motorists of all ages who want to become better and safer drivers. The course consists of seven mandatory modules, two optional modules, and one final test. If you are taking the course through your company or organization, all modules may be mandatory.

The modules are as follows:

  • Module 1: Course Introduction
  • Module 2: Principles and Foundations
  • Module 3: The Driver
  • Module 4: Intersections
  • Module 5: Passing
  • Module 6: Aggressive Driving
  • Module 7: Green Driving
  • Module 8: Winter Driving*
  • Module 9: Back Roads and Trail Driving*
  • Module 10: Final Test

How long will it take me to complete the course?

It should take approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete the course.


Why do I need to download Flash to view the course?

Throughout the course, you will be watching Flash demonstrations and will be participating in interactive activities that require Flash. To see an example of the exciting Flash activities in the course, watch this Flash movie.


What do I do if I forget my password?

  1. Go to http://stantec.informetica.com.
  2. Click on Forgot Your Password?
  3. Type your email address.
  4. Click Send >>.

You should receive your login information within a few minutes.


Can I leave the course open in the background while I do other work?

Yes! However, after 20 minutes of inactivity, you will be logged out. For better results, exit the course if you have other work to do.


What do I do if I run out of time?

Go back to the topYou have 60 days to complete the course. However, if you require more time, contact the course administrator for an extension. Click here to view the contact information.


What happens if I fail the course?

You can take the final test as often as needed. If you fail the course, try the final test again until you pass.


Once I have completed the course, do I get a certificate?

Yes! Once you have successfully completed the final test, you will receive a certificate in the mail. This certificate is issued by the Canada Safety Council.


How much does the course cost?

The course costs $75.00 + applicable taxes. To pay with Visa, MasterCard or cheque, please go through our online payment system.

I am an Alberta resident. Will this course reduce or eliminate the demerit points that are on my record?

I am a Nova Scotia resident. Can this online course replace the in class "exit program" for the graduated driver licensing program?

Unfortunately, this online course cannot replace the in-class the "exit program" for the graduated driver licensing program in Nova Scotia.


If I take this course, will my insurance premiums go down?

Not all insurance companies will reduce your premium if you take this course. Please contact your insurance company directly to find out. If your insurance company would like more information regarding this online course, please ask them to contact us.


I am a resident of Ontario and I need a Defensive Driving Course for my class B licence.
