Orientation to Personal Health Information
Privacy breaches can be costly and damaging. This course makes employees aware of Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and their responsibilities in maintaining your health unit's integrity and reputation as a trusted organization. In one hour, participants learn how to collect, store, use, and dispose of personal health information in a professional and ethical manner.
This course covers the basics of PHIPA, including what constitutes health information, who are health information custodians, and what are the consequences of non-compliance.
