Confined Spaces Entry | Image of an opened manholeThe Confined Spaces Entry online training program aims to provide learners with an overview of the Canada Labour Code standards for confined spaces as well as the skills needed to identify the hazards associated with working in confined spaces. Learners will also review the applicable provincial and territorial regulations.

Note: The Confined Spaces Entry training program can be customized to meet your organization's needs!

This course, developed by Stantec's Learning Products and Solutions group, provides an opportunity to learn how to:

  • Identify, define and classify a confined space.
  • Define a permit-required confined space.
  • Refer to the standards and the regulations related to confined spaces.
  • Better understand the hazards associated with confined spaces.
  • Work safely within a confined space.
  • Follow the procedures associated with confined space entry.
  • Identify the proper safety equipment needed in confined spaces.
  • Prepare an emergency response plan.

The Confined Spaces Entry online course is considered an awareness training program. Once you have completed it, we strongly recommend that you are provided with some practical confined spaces entry training from your health and safety committee or your supervisor.
